Discussing Treatment Scale-Up in Japan

TREAT Asia organized a symposium on "The Status of HIV Treatment in Asia: National-Level Experiences with Antiretroviral Therapy and Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission" at the Japan Society for AIDS Research meeting in Tokyo in November 2011. Speakers included Dr. Masaya Kato of the World Health Organization-Vietnam office (right), Dr. Rangsima Lolekha of the Thailand Ministry of Public Health-U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Collaboration (center), and Dr. Bob Verbruggen of the UNAIDS Regional Support Team for Asia and the Pacific (left). Supported through an educational grant from Torii Pharmaceuticals, the symposium has been an annual collaboration with Dr. Aikichi Iwamoto of the University of Tokyo.
