April 1, 2009— Physicians, nurses, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals are invited to learn about current challenges in the clinical care of HIV-positive women at an online seminar, April 17.  This daylong event, “A Webinar Series on Women & HIV: Clinical Concepts from WHICC (Women & HIV International Clinical Conference)” is organized by the Texas/Oklahoma AIDS Education & Training Center.

Departing from traditional conferences, this year’s event will consist of an interactive, web-based lecture series intended to dispense state-of-the-art, evidence-based, multidisciplinary education on the care of women with HIV. Nine separate sessions will be offered, with registration required for each session. All sessions will be accessible to registered participants free of charge; Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits are also available.

Although this year’s conference will be Internet-based, healthcare professionals in the New York area are invited to participate live at amfAR’s New York City offices. For information on participating in the live event, contact amfAR’s Director of Public and Professional Education Robert Giannasca
