amfAR's Director of Research Discusses 25 Years of HIV/AIDS on NPR's "Science Friday"
June 7, 2006—Dr. Rowena Johnston, director of research at amfAR, recently joined Ira Flatow, host of NPR’s “Science Friday” for a discussion of HIV/AIDS research in observation of the 25-year-old epidemic.
In a conversation about the progress in the fight against AIDS, Dr. Johnston discussed treatment and prevention strategies, the changing face of the epidemic and the challenges of treatment in the developing world.
Other guests included Dr. Wafaa El-Sadr, a member of amfAR’s Program Board, Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist Laurie Garrett, and Dr. Paul DeLay of the United Nations Joint Programme on AIDS.
