TWO X TWO
In 1999, amfAR teamed up with the Dallas Museum of Art for a joint fundraiser called TWO X TWO for AIDS and Art. The event was designed to rally contemporary art lovers to raise funds for both cutting-edge HIV/AIDS research and for the museum. A decade later, the event has raised more than $10 million for amfAR.

How did you get involved?
Cindy: We were introduced to amfAR when we were asked to host the first event in 1999. We were obviously aware of amfAR’s mission, but over time have really come to understand its critical role in the fight against AIDS.

Thoughts on the 10th anniversary of TWO X TWO?
Howard: Maybe we thought it would be a one-time event, but when they asked if we would be willing to do it again, we thought it would be fabulous. The cause is good, the plan is cogent, and it’s a wonderful opportunity.
