Implementing an Effective National HIV/AIDS Strategy for the U.S.
In the U.S., a new HIV infection occurs every 9½ minutes and one-third of all Americans living with HIV are not in care. Yet until recently there had never been a comprehensive strategy to address our domestic AIDS epidemic. The National HIV/AIDS Strategy unveiled by President Obama in July 2010 sets specific goals for reducing HIV incidence, increasing access to care, and addressing health disparities.
