Arlen H. Andelson

Joined the amfAR board in February 1993. Expertise in real estate and business law. In
1990, Mr. Andelson and his wife, Michele, made a donation in order to establish
the Sheldon W. Andelson Public Policy program in amfAR’s Washington, D.C.,
office. Mr. Andelson’s brother, the late Sheldon W. Andelson, Esq., was a
founding director of amfAR who served on the board until his death from
AIDS-related causes in 1987.
Mr. Andelson is currently on the board of governors of the Cedars-Sinai Medical
Center and on the board of governors and the leadership council of the West
Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Formerly, he served as the vice chairman and as
a director of the Bank of Los Angeles and was also on the board of governors of
AIDS Project Los Angeles. After receiving his J.D. cum laude in 1968 from the University of California’s Gould School
of Law, he was admitted to the California Bar in 1969 and was admitted to practice
before the Supreme Court of the United States in 1984.
Real estate owner and investor, retired senior partner of Andelson & Andelson in
Los Angeles, CA. He and his wife, Michele, have two daughters and live in
Beverly Hills, CA.
