amfAR’s Public Policy Program

amfAR’s public policy office in Washington, D.C., educates policy makers, the media, and the public about evidence-based policies to address HIV/AIDS in the U.S. and around the world.  Our advocacy efforts are aimed at:

• Increasing investment in AIDS research 
• Ensuring a robust, effective, and equitable response to the global epidemic 
• Implementing an effective National HIV/AIDS Strategy for the U.S.
• Delivering harm reduction services including syringe exchange
• Meeting the HIV-related needs of gay men and other men who have sex with men 
• Promoting the development and delivery of new interventions, including pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP)
• Other issues and resources
