As Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of YOOX NET-A-PORTER GROUP, Federico Marchetti is an entrepreneur leading the vanguard of luxury and technology. Long before fashion insiders understood the opportunities afforded by the Internet, he had a singular vision: to merge the exclusive world of luxury with the access of e-commerce.

In 2000 he launched the early internet retailer YOOX, which went on to become a business empire selling luxury brands such as Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Stella McCartney, Yves Saint Laurent, and Prada. Marchetti has continually anticipated market and consumer trends, and in 2015 he drove the merger of YOOX and NET-A-PORTER founding YOOX NET-A-PORTER, GROUP—the world leader in online luxury and fashion.

Uniquely positioned in the high-growth online luxury sector, YOOX NET-APORTER GROUP has a client base of more than 3.5 million high-spending customers from over 180 countries, employs over 5,000 people, and in 2017 generated revenues of almost $2.5 billion, half of which were from mobile sales. In 2018, with a valuation of $6 billion, YOOX NET-A-PORTER became part of Richemont, one of the world’s leading luxury groups, whose portfolio includes Cartier, IWC Schaffhausen, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Van Cleef & Arpels, Chloé, Montblanc, and Officine Panerai.

Marchetti holds a degree in Economics from Bocconi University in Milan and an MBA from Columbia Business School in New York City. He divides his time between Milan and London.
