August 25, 2026 — amfAR will return to The Chancery Rosewood on Friday, October 16, 2026, for its second annual amfAR London, taking place during Frieze London and the BFI London Film Festival. Academy Award-winning actor Jeremy Irons will receive the amfAR Award of Inspiration, and renowned milliner Philip Treacy will be honored with the amfAR Award of Excellence. The event will raise funds for amfAR’s mission to support lifesaving HIV research and advance global health.
Irons has been a longstanding supporter of amfAR, using his voice and influence to raise awareness of the global fight against HIV/AIDS and the urgent need for a cure. He will be recognized for his broad commitment to humanitarian causes, including his steadfast work in prison rehabilitation as Patron of The Prison Phoenix Trust, where he supports efforts to improve the wellbeing of people in prison. In addition, through his philanthropic work with The Hope Foundation, he supports oncology clinical trials and research through the SWOG Cancer Research Network, which advances new approaches to cancer prevention, treatment, and patient care.
Treacy will be recognized for his devoted support of scientific research, particularly in neuro-oncology, as well as his creative impact and contributions to art and fashion. As a longtime Patron of Brain Tumour Research, Treacy has supported initiatives including Wear A Hat Day and helped shine a spotlight on the urgent need for greater investment in research and new treatments.
“Last year’s inaugural amfAR London was an extraordinary success, raising critical funds for our lifesaving biomedical research and bringing together an inspiring community from the worlds of art, fashion, film, and philanthropy,” said amfAR CEO Kyle Clifford. “We are thrilled to build on that momentum this year with two remarkable honorees, Jeremy Irons and Philip Treacy, whose commitment to philanthropy, scientific research, and the arts embodies the spirit of amfAR.”
amfAR London will bring guests together for an elegant, seated dinner, special musical performances, and a live auction featuring exceptional contemporary art and exclusive luxury experiences. The Chancery Rosewood is the Presenting Sponsor of amfAR London. Robb Report is the event’s Media Partner. The evening will be generously supported by Boroli Wines, RUMOR Rosé, and You & Me Vodka.
More than 100,000 people are living with HIV in the UK and while most are receiving treatment that controls the virus, lifelong treatment requires consistent access to healthcare and is not a cure. Currently, amfAR is supporting multiple studies targeting new approaches to HIV cure and long-term remission; fundraisers like amfAR London contribute vital funding to support further research that impacts not just the treatment of HIV, but cancers, autoimmune disorders, and other chronic conditions as well.
Last year’s inaugural London gala raised $2.1 million and honored Dame Tracey Emin and Natasha Poonawalla, with unforgettable performances by Grace Jones and Jess Glynne. amfAR London 2026 will further establish the evening as one of London’s leading events during this important week for art, film, and culture.
