Work Smarter, Not Harder

Workplace giving is an easy way to support the causes you feel passionately about

Work smarter, not harder. We’ve all tried to increase productivity without burning ourselves out or wasting time—focus on one task at a time, keep to-do lists realistic, eliminate distractions. Here’s another way to work smarter you may want to add to your toolbox—participate in a workplace giving program.

Workplace giving allows you to save time and energy by setting up your charitable donation once, with a percentage of your paycheck or fixed dollar amount automatically deducted.

As an added bonus, donations received through workplace giving allow amfAR to work smarter, not harder. “Workplace giving affords us the security of knowing how many donations are on the horizon, allowing us to direct our fundraising efforts more efficiently,” says Kyle Clifford, chief development officer at amfAR. “That kind of steadfast support truly helps us fulfill our mission to end AIDS once and for all.”

Here are options to support amfAR via workplace giving:

  • Federal employees and members of the U.S. military can direct donations to amfAR through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), which amfAR participates in through a federation called CHC: Creating Healthier Communities. Our CFC number is 11996.
  • In addition to representing amfAR in the Combined Federal Campaign, CHC also represents amfAR and its other member charities in state and municipal employee giving campaigns, as well as a growing number of corporate campaigns, working with companies and institutions such as Aetna, American Express, Anthem, Cartus, Chevron, Cleveland Cavaliers, Coca-Cola, Comcast/NBC Universal, Continental Resources, Fred Meyer, Liberty Diversified International, and United Health Group.
  • Employees at companies and other organizations that participate in United Way workplace campaigns can also support amfAR with a “write-in” designation. And many organizations also operate their own workplace giving programs, including the American Bar Association, IBM, and Novell.
