Sing for Hope: New CD Benefits amfAR

In honor of World AIDS Day, Sing for Hope Volunteer Artists is releasing An AIDS Quilt Songbook: Sing for Hope. The album features new songs by established and emerging composers, many of whom were specially commissioned to create a musical portrait of the global epidemic, and all proceeds benefit amfAR.

The star-studded roster includes Yo-Yo Ma, Isabel Leonard, Joyce DiDonato, Jamie Barton, Noah Stewart, Susanna Phillips, Sean Panikkar, Matthew Polenzani, Anthony Dean Griffey, Monica Yunus, Camille Zamora, and more. The compilation also features amfAR Global Fundraising Chairman Sharon Stone and actor Ansel Elgort reading poems by Edna St. Vincent Millay, Siegfried Sassoon, and Walt Whitman.

“Music is the perfect medium for reflecting on the tragic losses caused by HIV/AIDS, but also for rallying the community to find a cure,” says amfAR CEO Kevin Robert Frost. “HIV/AIDS research is finally taking center stage as we’re closer than ever before to identifying a cure. This album showcases our collective resilience as well as hope in the final act against HIV/AIDS.”

The album is available for purchase on Amazon and iTunes and will be sold at retail stores throughout the United States and Canada this holiday season.
