Felipe Diniz

Feipe Diniz was instrumental in bringing amfAR’s Inspiration Gala to São Paulo, opening up his home to host the first ever amfAR benefit event in Latin America in 2011. The event has gone on to become the most successful in the Inspiration series, raising more than US$7 million in its first four years.

Born and raised in São Paulo, Felipe received degrees in Business Administration from the Fundaçao Armando Alvares Penteado and Architecture and Urbanism from the Escola de Belas Artes.

Architecture remains his principal passion and he opened his own architecture firm in 2006. Previously, he worked in the atelier of the celebrated Brazilian architect João Armentano, after stints at Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, one of the largest and most influential architecture, interior design, engineering, and urban planning firms in the world, and as an understudy for the renowned German architect Dirk Lohan.

In addition to amfAR, Felipe is involved with the Instituto Ingo Hoffman, which houses and supports children being treated for cancer and their families. The organization covers all expenses for more than 50 families a month so that children can get lifesaving treatment at the renowned Centro Infantil Boldrini, one of Brazil’s foremost pediatric cancer treatment and research centers.

In 2013 Felipe was honored by the Brazil Foundation in New York City for his philanthropic work and his involvement with amfAR in particular.

“I believe it is very important to bring to Brazil the culture of philanthropy that exists in the USA,” he says. “The fight against AIDS is very important to me personally and I want to do all I can to support amfAR’s efforts to bring the epidemic to an end.”
