Dr. Annette Sohn joined amfAR’s staff as vice president and director of TREAT Asia in September 2008, leading a staff of 13 at amfAR’s office in Bangkok, Thailand.

A pediatrician and researcher with extensive experience in the Asia region, Dr. Sohn directs a program integrating HIV, co-infection, and co-morbidity research among children, adolescents, and adults, with related activities around community advocacy, and research training and capacity-building.

She chairs the Executive Committee of the US NIH’s IeDEA global cohort consortium and is a member of the WHO’s Global and South East Asia Validation Advisory Committees on Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV. She is co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the International AIDS Society.
