Program Overview
amfAR supports innovative research to cure HIV and address health challenges where viruses and the immune system play a defining role, including cancer, neurological conditions, aging, autoimmune disorders, and other viral diseases.
RESEARCH WE FUND
amfAR funds HIV cure-focused research that shows promise, but is often considered too preliminary for traditional funders. Our advantage is not scale. It is speed, scientific rigor, and the conviction of advancing scientific discovery. To further amplify our impact and improve health outcomes for as many people as possible, amfAR also supports cross-disciplinary work at the intersection of virology, immunology, and AI-enabled science.
