amfAR London 2027 honorees Jeremy Irons and Philip Treacy

London, England, October 17, 2026 — Last night, amfAR raised $2.2 million in support of its mission to find a cure for HIV and improve global health at the second annual amfAR London gala at The Chancery Rosewood. The evening honored Academy Award winner Jeremy Irons and renowned milliner Philip Treacy for their contributions to amfAR’s cause, as well as a special performance by internationally celebrated singer, actor, producer, and longtime amfAR supporter Rita Ora; the evening opened with a performance from singer-songwriter Jamie Miller.

Currently climbing the charts in the UK, Miller opened the night with a moving cover of Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing,” as well as his hit single “Babydoll.” Kelly Osbourne then welcomed guests with heartfelt remarks about the personal significance of having amfAR in her hometown and her many years of support for amfAR’s HIV research.

The evening continued as amfAR Board Co-chair Kevin McClatchy spoke to amfAR’s mission and research sharing, “It’s not just our vision for the future that is bold, but our research investments as well. amfAR serves a vital function in a research environment that’s all too often hesitant to support untested hypotheses. amfAR relishes the opportunity to be the first to say yes to research ideas with breakthrough potential.”

In between auction lots, amfAR CEO Kyle Clifford took the stage to present Philip Treacy with amfAR’s Award of Excellence. Clifford praised Treacy, noting that “the extraordinary begins with daring to imagine something different. That is a belief we share at amfAR, and it is why we are so proud to honor [Treacy] tonight.”

Onstage, Treacy then reflected on the significance of the recognition, saying, “I don’t think anything could be more humbling than being recognized by an organization whose sole purpose for the past 40 years has been saving and enhancing millions of people’s lives.”

Inspired by the passion and generosity of the evening, Treacy surprised guests by offering a custom hat as a surprise lot in the auction, which also included an experience at the Spanish Grand Prix provided by Presenting Sponsor Audi, a sculpture by Rocco Richie, a commissioned artwork by Chloe Wise including a lunch and dinner at her studio, a portrait of amfAR’s Founding International Chairman Dame Elizabeth Taylor by Zara Muse, a VIP package at Frieze New York, including a stay at The Caryle, A Rosewood Hotel, and more.

Following the exhilarating auction, Edward Enninful, Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of EE72, presented Jeremy Irons with amfAR’s Award of Inspiration. In his remarks, Enninful celebrated Irons’ legendary acting career and unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes, highlighting his distinction as the first person to wear an AIDS ribbon onscreen at the 1991 Tony Awards.

In reflecting on his career and advocacy, Irons shared: “I have found being known to be quite a mixed bag… but one of its side effects I have relished has been the ability to shine a spotlight on issues I think deserve attention. The scourge of the HIV epidemic and the admirable work of amfAR has been one of them.” Irons added: “I had the great privilege to know Dr. Mathilde Krim, amfAR’s late Founding Chairman. And if it’s inspiration we’re talking about this evening, she was the North Star. Dr. Krim wasn’t just a brilliant scientist, she was also a connector.”

Rita Ora ended the night on a high note with extraordinary performances of her hits, “For You,” “I Will Never Let You Down,” “Lonely Together,” and “Anywhere.”

Along with Audi and The Chancery Rosewood as the evening’s Presenting Sponsors, Fraser Yachts was the Signature Sponsor. Robb Report was the event’s Media Partner. The evening was also generously supported by Boroli Wines, Cap Gin, RUMOR Rosé, and You & Me Vodka.
