amfAR Celebrates the Bold HIV Advocacy of Elizabeth Taylor on Her Birthday
amfAR was established over 40 years ago by the late Dame Elizabeth Taylor, our remarkable Founding International Chairman. Her birthday, February 27, is a poignant reminder of the powerful work she set in motion, and the incredible legacy she left behind.
Ms. Taylor was not only a fierce advocate for people living with HIV/AIDS, but also a trailblazer who embodied love, courage, and leadership. She, and amfAR’s co-founder Dr. Mathilde Krim, led with compassion when fear dominated the conversation around HIV. Ms. Taylor was a pioneering leader whose courage is woven into the very DNA of amfAR, and her vision continues to drive us boldly toward a cure for HIV.
We are deeply inspired by Ms. Taylor’s trailblazing example and know that without her leadership, the fight against HIV/AIDS would look very different today.
Please join us in celebrating her birthday by supporting the mission she helped ignite, and empowering researchers, advocates, and communities that are advancing science and saving lives.
Together, we can fight for a cure and honor the memory of a woman who led with extraordinary grace, grit, and passion.
