• Only 4 in 10 American adults have a will;
• 63% of people who earn more than $80,000 a year, and 42% of people who earn between $40,000 and $80,000, say they haven’t “gotten around to it” or cite procrastination as the biggest reason they haven’t written a will; and
• 12% of American adults say they don’t have a will because they are unsure about how to write one.

Writing a will has traditionally been regarded as expensive, overwhelming, and inaccessible, which is why so few American adults do not have an up-to-date will in place. But it’s a necessary task for everyone, no matter how old you are, and a simple way to protect and provide for the people and causes you love the most.
