Nicole Wittenberg is an American artist based in New York City. She is a painter, curator, professor, and writer.

Wittenberg strives to capture the sensorial emotions of particular moments and experiences in nature, chasing the feeling of being there. Unbeholden to naturalism, what she focuses on is the translation of a lived experience and sensation into an image, and the possibility of returning to that moment.

Wittenberg’s works are included in many prominent collections, including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City; the Albertina in Vienna, Austria; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, in Boston, Massachusetts; and others. Recent exhibitions include Moonshine Lullaby, MASSIMODECARLO, London, 2023; Our Love Is Here to Stay, Acquavella, Palm Beach, 2022; Tennis Elbow, The Journal Gallery, New York City, 2022; Powder Your Face with Sunshine, Ross + Kramer, New York City, 2021; and Sunday Kind of Love, Nina Johnson Gallery, Miami, Florida, 2020.
