amfAR Adds Olivia Tyson, Alessandro Dusi to Its Board of Trustees

Tyson and Dusi will serve three-year terms and help guide long-term strategy for the nonprofit organization

NEW YORK, March 30, 2026 — amfAR is proud to announce the addition of both Olivia Tyson and Alessandro Dusi to its Board of Trustees. Both bring invaluable experience and expertise and will play crucial roles in the continued growth and reach of amfAR’s mission to advance scientific discovery.

Olivia Tyson

Olivia Tyson is a Northwest Arkansas native and dedicated community advocate; she’s focused much of her philanthropic efforts on expanding healthcare access in rural America. Since 2019, Tyson has served as President of the Tyson Family Foundation, supporting arts and culture, education and entrepreneurship, and healthcare initiatives. She was also elected to the Tyson Foods Board of Directors in 2025 and is the co-founder of the entertainment financing and development company Tricky-Knot. Additionally, Tyson serves on the board of the Northwest Arkansas-based Creative Arkansas Community Hub & Exchange (CACHE), as a council member for The Momentary, and as a member of Maverick Collective by PSI, a philanthropy group.

“While nearly one in five Americans lives in a part of the country considered rural, only 10% of physicians in this country practice there,” Tyson said. “Growing up in Fayetteville, Arkansas, I saw this access disparity firsthand, and I’m extraordinarily excited to join the Board of Trustees at amfAR to ensure, in part, that the exciting advances amfAR is pioneering are available to everyone, regardless of where they call home.”

Alessandro Dusi

Alessandro Dusi has served as a Partner at Goldman Sachs since 2012; he currently serves as Co-Head of Investment Grade Capital Markets and Derivatives. Dusi’s expertise and experience advising global corporations on structure, financing, and risk management will be essential in ensuring amfAR’s financial wellbeing as it expands its impact and support for global research. Dusi’s significant contributions to amfAR throughout the years have been integral to amfAR’s increased funding for researchers and support for biomedical research.

“What’s impressed me most about amfAR is its outsized impact on a global scale,” Dusi said. “At a time when uncertainty hovers over so much of the global landscape, amfAR’s ability to invest strategically in innovation and deliver real impact toward an end to AIDS is remarkable.”

“We don’t plan to take our foot off the gas anytime soon,” amfAR CEO Kyle Clifford said. “We’re thrilled to add Olivia and Alessandro to the team, and their wisdom and guidance will help amfAR continue its 40-year history of pushing the field of HIV research forward and improving treatment, prevention, and cures for other diseases.”

Added amfAR Board Co-Chairs T. Ryan Greenawalt and Kevin McClatchy: “We have no doubt that Olivia and Alessandro will bring phenomenal insights to amfAR’s Board of Trustees. The discoveries that stem from amfAR’s research must be both accessible and affordable, and their expertise and experience will be invaluable in making sure that’s so.”
