NEW YORK, June 21, 2023 — amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, has teamed up with PROSPECT 100 to launch a global competition aimed at creating an NFT collection to be sold in support of amfAR’s research targeting a cure for HIV.

Designers and digital artists are invited to create a background design for an amfAR avatar titled The Inclusive Innovator, a researcher working to find a cure for HIV/AIDS while advocating for LGBTQ+ rights. The top designs will be reviewed by a panel of celebrity judges: J Balvin, Peggy Gou, Kendall Jenner, Jeff Koons, Baz Luhrmann, Alton Mason, Kate Moss, Milinsky, Francesco Ragazzi, and Natalia Vodianova. The public will then be invited to vote on 10 semi-finalists’ designs before a winner is announced on Saturday, July 15.

Additionally, the submitted designs will be merged with the amfAR avatar and attributes from a number of high-profile artists. The resulting collection of NFTs will go on sale through FAIR.XYZ, with proceeds going to amfAR’s lifesaving research and advocacy programs.

“amfAR has always been thankful for the support of our friends in the worlds of entertainment and culture for their help in raising awareness about the impact of HIV/AIDS,” amfAR Chief Development Officer Kyle Clifford said. “This contest is an exciting opportunity for emerging artists to make a splash and for amfAR to help create a new kind of global mission-driven fundraising campaign.”

Artists can learn more about the competition and submit their designs at prospect100.com/amfar. Submissions will be accepted through Sunday, July 9 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
