TREAT Asia’s adult network includes 21 clinical sites that contribute to the TREAT Asia HIV Observational Database (TAHOD), which contains data from nearly 10,000 patients. Using these data, the network’s researchers continue to answer the important questions about HIV treatment facing the region today, including optimizing treatment for patients who have developed resistance to first-line or second-line antiretroviral treatment; improving treatment for those co-infected with hepatitis B and C, tuberculosis, and the human papillomavirus (HPV); and better understanding the relationship of HIV to non-communicable diseases associated with aging, like heart disease and cancer. TREAT Asia is also working to understand and overcome barriers to engaging HIV-positive adults in care.
